Christmas is just around the corner! Are your presents on the way, are you still waiting to bake cookies and have you already finished the decorations? The current situation forces us to be able to enjoy the little things. Would you like to use such a little thing to tune yourself and your home to the Christmas atmosphere? Delight yourself and your senses with homemade air fresheners, moreover with a Christmas theme!
Pinecone here, pinecone there
Collect fallen pinecones from pine trees and arrange them at home in a bowl. Finally, drip cinnamon oil onto the cones. It will gradually dry and release its aroma. For effect you can paint the cones white or sprinkle them with artificial snow.
Simmering pot!
You can pile all your favorite aromatic fruit into a pot, pour water over it and leave it on the switched-on stove. For a better aroma you can add fir sprigs, cloves or cinnamon. Let the pot heat on a low flame and enjoy a home scented for Christmas.
Gel air freshener
Start by preparing culinary gelatin to which you add two teaspoons of salt. Drip your favorite essential oil into an empty container and pour the prepared gelatin over it. For a stronger visual effect you can add food coloring or dried fruit.
Better than store-bought
To make a homemade diffuser you need a small bottle, skewers, essential oil and ordinary oil. Put a few drops of your favorite essential oil into the bottle, add the ordinary oil, mix and place the skewers inside. Voilá, the diffuser is ready!
Get the kids involved
Make with the children a dough from applesauce, glue and cinnamon. Transfer the dough onto baking paper and cut out shapes from it. Then bake the gingerbread cookies at a low temperature, poke holes and put them back in the oven to dry. Finally decorate and thread a ribbon through the holes. From the same dough you can make balls for an Advent wreath, or beads with which you decorate garlands. A clove stuck into the balls will intensify the overall aroma.
