When traditionally dyeing Easter eggs, we can turn to new methods that ensure an unusually beautiful result. To one of the lesser-known ways of dyeing eggs, which yields magically rainbow-colored eggs, no special tools are needed.

Here, too, imagination knows no bounds. When the much-needed imagination combines with effective techniques, know that this ideal combination will certainly show in the result. It should be noted that, as with other skills, improvement comes with time.

Eggs straight out of a fairytale

This unconventional egg-decorating technique is not time-consuming. Everything, of course, depends on the number of eggs we want to liven up this way.

We will need:

  • Boiled eggs (preferably white)
  • Any food colorings – 5 or more different colors
  • Napkins (depending on the number of eggs)
  • Necessary containers (for the dyes), spoons

Procedure:

Mix the dye with water according to the instructions. Then wrap each egg in napkins so that each napkin fits the egg as tightly as possible (i.e., without gaps).

To prevent possible staining of furniture, cover the work surface where the dyeing will take place with foil or another easily washable layer.

On each wrapped egg, drip (or otherwise apply) the individual dyes onto the napkin. Continue this process until the napkin is completely soaked with the dyes around the entire circumference of the shell. Thanks to the napkin, the colors will gradually penetrate to the egg and color it in a completely unique way.

Once the napkin is completely colored, set the wrapped egg aside in a quiet, dry place (e.g., on a windowsill) to let the colors dry. Leave the egg like this for 6-7 hours until the napkin is completely dry. Then remove the napkins and you’re done.
