Bountiful strawberry harvest
If you decide to grow your own strawberries, you certainly desire a large harvest so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.
With this advice you can achieve a bountiful harvest of sweet and delicious strawberries that you will harvest for several weeks.
Yeast fertilizer
This fertilizer is excellent for growing strawberries, but you can also use it on other fruit or flowers that you want to be abundant and full of blossoms.
You will need:
- water – 5 liters
- yeast – 1 kilogram
Procedure:
Dissolve 1 kilogram of yeast in 5 liters of water.
This creates a mixture which is then diluted with 50 liters of water.
0.5 L of the mixture per 10 L of water.
10 strawberry bushes require 5 liters of water with fertilizer.
Fertilizing is done twice per season.
Dry yeast
You can also use dry yeast.
To one packet of dry yeast add 2 tablespoons of sugar and dissolve them together in water.
Put the mixture into a bucket of water and let it steep for 2 hours
Add 0.5 liter of the mixture to the watering can
How to further fertilize strawberries?
Strawberries can also be fertilized with other products that ensure a richer harvest.
Sour milk
We can use, for example, whey, which contains calcium, nitrogen, minerals, phosphorus, sulfur and many amino acids.
Strawberries appreciate acidic soil because it contributes to better fruit development.
Mix the whey together with ash, eggshells or chicken manure.
Tip: If you use soured milk in a spray, it will help you get rid of aphids and mites
Bread
You need to use older sourdough bread. Soak it in water and weigh it down.
Let it sit for up to 10 days.
Dilute the solution with water in a 1:1 ratio.
Chicken manure
Chicken manure contains a large amount of nitrogen, which enables strawberries to produce more fruit.
Mix 0.5 L of manure with 10 L of water
Let the mixture stand for 2-3 days and then sprinkle it on the strawberries.
