We believe that the ideal weight for a woman is determined at age 18. And this number of kilograms should be a guide for a young lady throughout her life.
Formula for ideal weight
Very few women can maintain ideal measurements thanks to a balanced lifestyle, a good metabolism and regular physical activity. However, other parameters also matter. Body weight tables for women. Many years ago there was a formula for a woman’s ideal body weight that was calculated as follows: 110 was subtracted from the height (in cm), yielding the desired weight. This simplified formula worked well except for fitness models, but it didn’t fit women with pronounced hips and breasts. They therefore began to take body type into account.
Table
Based on calculations by the French anthropologist Paul Broca, it is not difficult to determine a woman’s ideal weight according to the table above. However, as the years pass the body uses less and less energy, so the metabolism slows down and more fat is produced. This leads to an increase in the number of extra kilograms.
For women over 40 add 10% to the ideal weight listed in the table, and for women over 55 add 15%. It is important to note that these calculations give the upper allowable weight limit used to determine whether a person is obese or not. They cannot be used to identify excessive thinness.
Weight index
Not everyone can be classified into a certain body type. After all, someone can fall between, say, thin and average body types. The normal weight index doesn’t differ much in such cases, and if you have doubts about excess kilograms, consult a nutrition specialist.
