The beginning of summer will be cold, meteorologists predict. Low temperatures that have prevailed during April will continue and after a thermally average to below-average May a cold summer full of storms will follow. Tropical heat is unlikely, but you don’t have to worry about swimming. The temperature will probably climb to around thirty.

Meteorological services have published temperature forecasts for the start of summer and they do not look very favorable so far.

We’ll certainly enjoy plenty of sunshine, however temperatures will not be very high. We bring you an overview of the weather during May and June, week by week, as published by the popular meteorological site AccuWeather.com.

May will be decidedly cold

The following month will be characterized by overcast skies and light precipitation. While at this time last year temperatures were literally summery and climbed above thirty, this year we’ll be happy if the mercury rises above twenty degrees.

The first week of May will be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy with occasional rain. Temperatures will range from 15°C to 23°C, which is average weather in the historical context. In the week starting May 17, the weather will begin to improve somewhat, clouds will break up and sunbeams will appear.

However, temperatures will remain at a similar level with a maximum of 23°C and alternately rainy to cloudy weather will continue until the end of the month. Meteorologists expect the end of May to be stormy.

June will bring pleasant warmth

The first summer month will not bring tropical heat either, but it will not be outright cold. After a rainy end to May, partly cloudy weather will arrive with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25°C in the shade. It is likely that in direct sunlight the temperature will rise up to around thirty.

However, the threat of storms and occasional showers that will cool the air again will persist.

The warmest period will be mid-month from June 17 to 21, when the forecast calls for clear skies and official temperatures will then rise up to 30°C. But these will be ended by storms that will last until the beginning of July. Apart from the coronavirus pandemic, it is therefore likely that the weather will not favor this year’s holidays either.
