The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) informed the public about the withdrawal of the product from distribution companies, pharmacies and patients. It acted so to protect the health and safety of the patient.
The winter season is ripe for the proliferation of viruses, as a result of which many people are battling illness. Many of us are used to using various nasal sprays that make breathing easier and reduce swelling of the mucous membrane.
The Slovak Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) on its website informed about the withdrawal of the commonly used nasal spray .
The State Institute for Drug Control found discrepancies during an inspection of the product that relieves swelling of the nasal mucosa in acute rhinitis, mucus formation and allergic rhinitis. The reason is said to be the dangerous risk of microbial contamination.
Olinth causes addiction
“For the protection of patients’ health and safety, all batches of the product manufactured since 1 October 2018 are being withdrawn. Those particularly at risk are patients with impaired immune system function and sensitive individuals. The State Institute for Drug Control urges patients to stop using the product Olynth HA 0.1%,” reads the official page sukl.sk.
Specifically, the batches are F144450A and F144460A, and patients can return the medicine to the pharmacy.
