When we wake up in the morning, we often don’t feel like getting up, we need a lot of time to leave the warmed bed and sometimes we feel even more tired and achy. It would be far better to get up into a new day with a smile and appetite. But how to achieve that state and feel truly rested after sleep? It’s worth trying to skip some activities that can unpleasantly worsen our morning without us realizing it. It may be that because of these mistakes we bring about difficult mornings for ourselves.

Don’t hit the snooze button

It’s important to try to avoid routine. Every day begins the same for us. But it’s enough to change the order of some morning activities so that getting up isn’t a tired repeat. We fall into routine because it’s the easiest and what we’ve learned seems like a safer solution. In reality, however, routine frustrates. We also shouldn’t use delaying getting up, which creates anger in us when we subsequently run out of time. Try getting up at the first alarm.

As soon as the alarm rings, it’s good to get up immediately and stretch. If we don’t, there’s still a chance we’ll fall back into a state of peaceful sleep, because of which we then won’t have time for other activities. If it’s winter and it’s still dark outside in the morning, a good solution is to turn on the lights right away. Light signals to our body that it’s time to get up and rising will be easier for us. If only drawn curtains or blinds are blocking the light, get up and open them. At the same time we can stretch.

Avoid looking at your phone screen

It doesn’t have to be only falling asleep again that causes stress from running late. We can be fully awake while precious minutes slip away. It’s enough to devote too much of our morning attention to the mobile phone and checking emails, social networks and news portals. Leave this activity for later; it can cause unpleasant rushing. If we want to feel a bit happier in the morning, even a simple activity like making the bed may suffice. It takes at most 2 minutes, but can result in a more positive start to the whole day.

Coffee is nice, but it doesn’t have to be our first morning drink

For many people it’s a morning ritual they can’t do without. But try postponing the delicious coffee until later. In the morning it’s important to gain the necessary energy through food and, for example, juice. It’s certainly not good to drink coffee on an empty stomach. Let’s wait until after nine o’clock, when the body is fortified.

  • try to follow all of the above
  • getting used to new habits will bring a good mood and a better start to the day

By changing morning activities we avoid routine and improve the start of the entire day. Besides, we can even begin to look forward to waking up. Thorough rest, however, also needs to be supported by long, restorative sleep. Therefore remember that ideally we should sleep 7 to 8 hours each day. Only then will the feeling of morning refreshment arrive.
