What are tomatoes lacking?
- yellowed and wilted leaves and slower growth – they need nitrogen
- discolored leaves, thin stems, delayed growth – phosphorus deficiency
- leaf edges are dry – lack of potassium
- leaves have yellow spots – magnesium deficiency
- deformation and yellowing of leaves – calcium deficiency
If your seedlings have these symptoms, they need increased attention. Pay attention to sufficient watering, lighting and the temperature, which you should raise slightly. That means moving the seedlings into the light or giving them a few days inside and in the sun. Nutrients you provide to the plants can also help. This will support the formation of stronger roots, faster growth, increase overall immunity and prevent the development of diseases. So how to provide them with the necessary nutrition and what do tomatoes need?

Yeast as fertilizer for tomatoes
Yeast is excellent as a fertilizer. In 3 liters of water, preferably distilled, dissolve 100 grams of yeast and half a teaspoon of sugar. Cover the solution with gauze and keep it in a warm place, stirring occasionally. Then dilute 1 cup of this mixture with 10 liters of water and water the tomatoes once a month. 1 liter per seedling should be sufficient.
Eggshells as fertilizer for tomatoes
Eggshells are an ideal source of calcium. Put 3–4 crushed eggshells into a container with 3 liters of water. Cover and let stand for 3 days. Water the tomatoes twice a month.
