Aloe vera is a plant native to North Africa. The first mentions of its healing benefits are found on papyri and scrolls from ancient Egypt.
In total, up to 12 different uses of it are known from this historical period.
Today it is used for a much larger number of health issues, both internally and for external application.
How aloe vera is grown and used
Aloe vera is undoubtedly one of the most versatile herbs on our planet. It is easily grown at home or in the garden.
It requires only occasional watering and fertilizing. In return it provides a whole range of medicinal uses whenever needed.
When harvesting it, simply scoop out the pulp from inside its leaves and you can then consume it immediately, add it to other dishes, or apply it directly to the skin.
Aloe vera products can now be found in almost every drugstore or health food store.
However, the problem is that these products, besides aloe vera, also contain many preservatives that are intended to extend the shelf life of the products.
These chemicals, however, have a harmful effect on the human body. Moreover, such products are often quite expensive.
Therefore, whenever possible, choose to use a fresh plant.
Health benefits of aloe vera
Let’s now take a look at the benefits of aloe vera for your health.
1. Shaving gel.
Simply apply it to the skin of the face (for men) or to the legs or underarms (for women) before shaving. It softens the skin and shaving nicks heal faster and the skin will not itch.
2. Wound healing.
If you were bitten or stung by insects or have abrasions, scratches, or grazes on the skin, simply apply aloe vera pulp to them, which will significantly speed up their healing.

There is nothing more effective for wrinkles than fresh aloe vera. No cream or other commercial product compares to it.
4. Soothing burn pain.
If you have sunburns or minor burns from fire (not severe ones, which require medical treatment), apply aloe vera to the affected skin. It has a pleasantly cooling effect on the pain and speeds up healing.
