However, the Journal of General Internal Medicine recently published a study that points to new dangers associated with artificially sweetened soft drinks.
Artificial sweeteners increase the risk of stroke and heart attack
The study, which ran for more than ten years and included over 2,500 people, focused on the effects of artificially sweetened drinks on health. The results were surprising: people who regularly consumed beverages flavored with artificial sweeteners had a significantly higher risk of brain hemorrhage, heart attack, and other vascular diseases.
These findings did not prove that consuming sweetened drinks is beneficial to the body. On the contrary, it turned out that all types of soft drinks, whether sugar-sweetened or artificially sweetened, can have a negative impact on health.

Experts recommend moderating consumption of carbonated soft drinks and trying to replace the daily recommended fluid intake of 1.5-2 liters with water. Although it may be tempting to reach for a sweet, fizzy drink, it is important to think about long-term health and the potential risks associated with their regular consumption.
