A scar is actually the body’s protection against the entry of foreign substances at the site of injury, or after surgery. It forms because a layer of collagen develops at the damaged site, which prevents infection and supports tissue regeneration. At the same time more blood flows to such an area, which is why the scar is red. When the wound heals, the collagen in the scar begins to break down, blood flow to the damaged area returns to normal, the scar softens, no longer protrudes above the surrounding skin surface, the redness fades, and over time, often only after several months, it disappears. However, it never completely heals; after an injury a mark remains visible on the skin.

No matter how hard we try in life, each of us has at least one scar on the body. It’s enough to cut yourself, bump, scrape, or undergo a procedure in hospital, and a scar will remain. When it is hidden under clothing, it doesn’t have to trouble us for the rest of our lives. However, there are places where we would like to get rid of them, for example on the face, on the backs of the hands, forearms. We bring you a simple recipe for how to deal with scar treatment. Making this cream at home takes you a few minutes. Often it happens that the scar disappears in less than a month of application. And that’s worth it.

You will need only 4 ingredients

There is no need to undergo laser treatment, sanding, plastic surgery, or any other expensive procedure. You can carry out the treatment in the comfort of your home. Here are the ingredients of the therapeutic preparation.

¼ cup of cocoa butter

¼ cup of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of honey

4 drops of natural lavender oil

Prepare the scar treatment cream as follows: in a small pot melt the coconut oil. Do this in a water bath. It melts at approximately 22°C; once it is liquid, gradually add the other ingredients, and stir until a beautifully smooth homogeneous cream forms. Stir preferably with a wooden spoon. Then put it into a jar and place it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. And the cream is ready, and you can begin to use it. To make it last in the fridge until you use it up, store it in a jar without air access. It could otherwise start to spoil.

How often to apply to the scarred area.

Application is recommended at least 2x daily. If you wash the area during the day, you can increase the number of applications. It’s good to wash the affected area with lukewarm water and pat it lightly dry. The skin will then be supple and hydrated. The cream will then penetrate more easily into the depth, to the lower layers of the skin, and the healing process will begin. Make the last application in the evening, after bathing, before you go to sleep. The cream will be absorbed, and you don’t have to worry about staining your pajamas or bedding. And now you only need to watch the scar fade. If you want to get rid of a scar that has been on your body for more than 2 years, it may take considerably longer, and sometimes it doesn’t succeed even after a long time, because the scar is already healed, but a mark remains on the skin.
