Breastfeeding in public is a very controversial topic. Many people have no problem with it but others are outraged. Summer is already in full swing and covering up while breastfeeding is becoming increasingly difficult. The problem is also that you can hardly explain to a small, hungry, crying child that they cannot be fed because people around would mind.

Ban on breastfeeding in public
One absurd case concerning a ban on breastfeeding in public happened in America, where it is legal in all 50 states. The portal scarymommy reports on the inhumane behavior toward the young mother . During these summer days, a visit to the swimming pool or water park is a matter of course. That’s why young mother Misty went to the pool with her 10-month-old son and older daughter to cool off a bit and enjoy the day with the children. As could be expected, the little boy got hungry and Misty, like any good mom, began to breastfeed him. What happened next, however, shocks everyone.
Stop breastfeeding, or leave
. “A lifeguard came up to me and said either I stop breastfeeding or I have to leave. He said what I was doing was against their rules,” describes the situation Misty. “He gave me an ultimatum. Either I cover up or I have to leave. I asked him to show me where in their rules it says that I cannot breastfeed in public and I would leave. It was purely their rules. In the end I told him he could call whoever he wanted, but I was not going to leave,” she added.
She was entitled to do so
Misty did not stop breastfeeding because she had the legal right to do so, but the lifeguard called the local police, who were to remove her from the pool. After the security camera video became public, the Texas police issued a statement about the incident: “We apologize for how Misty Daugereaux was treated because it is clear that she was offended by the way she was treated. City rules will be reviewed and, if necessary, changed. Any shortcomings that employees have will be addressed through further training.”
