Malisse Sergent Lewis was rushing to her job that fateful morning and therefore decided to take a shortcut.
Commute to work
She was heading to work along a relatively narrow road when she suddenly noticed a black bag lying in the middle of her path. She originally planned to walk around the black bag, but the black bag began to move.
She therefore decided to open the bag
As soon as she did, her heart almost broke. Inside the black plastic bag was a small puppy that someone had thrown out on the road to be hit by a car. Malisse and her family decided to rescue the puppy and keep it. The puppy is now named Hefty and is a very happy member of the family.
