As they say, man proposes, God disposes. These spouses certainly didn’t plan for so many children, but in the end they are happy that fate granted them a large family.
10 boys
Alexis and David from Scotland are known to many people around the world thanks to their children.
Over 15 years they had 10 children and all were boys. As if that weren’t enough, another child was added to the family!
39-year-old Alexis Brett was convinced she would have another boy, so she almost didn’t ask the sonographers for the sex of her 11th child.
But as they say, man plans and God laughs.
And despite anyone’s beliefs, probably each of us can find a surprise that life brings us.
The Bretts have ten sons aged from 2 to 17, but what happened was something none of them expected.
What happened
Alexis became pregnant again. But this time they had a daughter, who was named Cameron.

The mother of 11 admitted that she herself had no siblings, she was an only child, and she never would have dreamed that she would have such a large family. People think they had so many children because they were always longing for a daughter, but both insist that this is not true.
Why the couple have so many children
“It’s just that no contraception worked for me,” says the smiling mother and adds that their family is now truly complete and they do not plan any more children.
The happy parents say it has changed the family dynamic a bit, because all the brothers are very careful not to wake their young sister and to behave better in general.
This certainly brings great joy to the parents, who say that this last pregnancy was unplanned, but sent them over the moon, because they expected it to be another boy after they found out they were expecting another child.
11 children are enough
The pleased mother adds that they are now stopping for good.
“There won’t be any more.” I said it last time too, but this time I absolutely mean it. I love my family just the way it is now.”

Some people think we must be on benefits, but we’re not.
David has a good job, which means we are not even entitled to full child allowances. “Her husband is a train driver and usually leaves the house around 5:30, so his wife can enjoy a bit of quiet time in the morning, if she has any free time.
Before the children wake up she enjoys a cup of coffee and a shower.
Although life is not easy being a mother of 11 children, as she has to do 49 loads of laundry a week.
Alexis plans to return to work as a fitness instructor part-time in a couple of weeks.
