Today we will probably disappoint you a little when we reveal to you that the bed mattresses you use every day are a perfect place for the accumulation of dirt and the proliferation of various pathogenic microorganisms.

Unfortunately, changing the bedding won’t help here, because dust, sweat, hair, flakes of dead skin or other bodily tissue or fluids pass through the sheet into the mattress.

And in such an environment not only dust mites multiply, but a whole spectrum of bacteria and other microorganisms.

These can then negatively affect your health and the health of your loved ones.

But you don’t need to worry. In this article we will also tell you how to effectively eliminate this danger without having to use any harmful chemical agents.

How to effectively disinfect bed mattresses

Believe it or not, the only thing you need to clean a mattress is a bit of ordinary baking soda.

It is a natural substance that is extremely effective at removing bacteria and dust mites.

Proceed as follows:

1. First, take a vacuum cleaner and thoroughly vacuum the mattresses, including their sides and, if applicable, the bottoms.

2. Next, take the baking soda and sprinkle it over the mattresses. You can use a kitchen sieve as a helper. This way you effectively disinfect the mattress.

3. You can leave the baking soda on the mattresses. If it bothers you, let it sit for at least a few hours and then vacuum it up again.

4. Finally, add a few drops of your favorite scented essential oil to a spray bottle with water, shake, and then spray the mattresses with this mixture so they smell nice.

5. That’s it! Ideally repeat this process once a month.
