Pork neck (pork collar) is almost a national dish. Occasionally it’s worth trying new flavors. Our recipe is just as simple and tasty. In addition, like the pork neck, this dish can be served with several types of side dishes. If you don’t like Christmas carp, you can replace it with this dish. It goes well with
- boiled potatoes
- French fries
- potatoes in their skins
- a light salad
Chicken ala Mikuláš
Believe us, you’ll change your mind about pork being the best. The dish we’re talking about comes from Russian cuisine. According to accounts, it spread during the reign of Tsar Nicholas I and Russians have loved it ever since. And that was almost two hundred years ago. Prepare half a kilo of chicken breasts, a glass of milk, a handful of parsley, a tablespoon of butter, two eggs, salt, pepper, oil for frying and breadcrumbs.
How to
Soak the breasts in milk and then pat them dry. Separate the whites from the yolks and chop the parsley. Mince the breasts. Add the butter, yolks and milk. Salt and pepper. Finally add the parsley and mix. Slowly add the egg whites while stirring continuously. The mixture should be fluffy. Finally form small balls and coat them in breadcrumbs.
Fry in oil. The flame should be at a moderate level. Once the balls turn golden, they are done. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess fat.
