The stomach is a part of the digestive system and is located between the small intestine and the esophagus.

Its main task is to partially break down ingested food, mainly proteins, which are broken down into amino acids in the small intestine.

Amino acids are absorbed into the blood in the small intestine and transported to other organs, where they are used to synthesize new proteins or hormones.

How the stomach protects the intestines

The acids in the stomach have a low pH, which, in addition to breaking down food, easily kill pathogenic bacteria that could cause dangerous infections in the body.

In this way the stomach essentially protects the intestines from infectious diseases. If this process fails for any reason, diarrhea can occur, for example.

However, infections do not have to affect only the intestines; they can also affect the stomach itself.

This then leads to inflammation of the stomach lining, bloating, heartburn, loss of appetite, bleeding, stomach ulcers and pain.

A diseased stomach is professionally referred to as gastritis.

Factors contributing to the development of chronic gastritis

The following factors can cause gastritis:

  • smoking
  • excessive alcohol consumption
  • chronic stress
  • unhealthy eating habits
  • excessive use of nonsteroidal pain relievers (ibuprofen, paracetamol)
  • infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria

There are many conventional therapies for gastritis and heartburn. However, most standard drugs cause undesirable side effects that further make life harder for patients.

Natural methods for treating gastritis and heartburn

Fortunately, there are also natural methods that have no side effects. And now we’ll say a little more about them.

1. Rice water

Cook two full handfuls of rice in 1 liter of water. Strain the water and let it cool.

To relieve heartburn and treat gastritis, drink this water every day until symptoms subside.

2. Carrot and celery juice

Put 2 carrots, a few stalks stalk celery and a little water into a blender.

Blend until a smooth consistency is achieved. This drink will relieve symptoms and pain from gastritis and very effectively suppress heartburn.

Use as needed.

3. Pear and ginger

Similar to the previous recipe, put the listed ingredients into a blender here as well, add some water and blend.

This drink has strong antibiotic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is very effective against harmful bacteria in the stomach.

4. Apple and chamomile

Peel the apple and remove the core. Slice it into wedges. Place them in a pan or pot, add water and a few chamomile flowers.

Boil this mixture and let it cool to room temperature. Drink every day and stomach pains or heartburn will soon disappear.

5. Parsley juice

Put a handful of parsley greens and a liter of water into a blender and blend well.

Drink this beverage every day. Store it in the refrigerator and prepare a fresh drink each day.
