People see the same dream before they die, scientists say
A study by American doctors over 10 years shows that even three weeks before their passing, people begin to have strange visions – the same dreams.
Vivid dreams
In monitoring dying patients, of whom more than 13,000 were observed during this time, experts found that 88 % of people on the eve of their passing have incredibly vivid dreams, Popular Mechanics writes.
Communication with deceased relatives
According to patients, in 72 % of cases they communicated in their dreams with deceased relatives and friends and experienced warm feelings. 59 % of patients in their final dreams were packing suitcases or buying plane tickets – generally they were going on their last journey. Some were already on a train or a plane and sometimes found long-dead relatives beside them, with whom they joyfully communicated.
Seeing friends in dreams
29 % of patients also saw their relatives and friends in dreams, but exclusively alive. Meanwhile 28 % observed various memories from their past life in their dreams – certain events that left a pleasant impression.
Deceased pets
Dying children were an exception: most often they dreamed about deceased pets they had known. Adults also dreamed, but their young patients could not remember. The mysterious dreams begin about 10-11 weeks before departure and during the 3 weeks their frequency rapidly increased and the dreams became clearer.
Earlier, experts from Rice University identified the cause of premature departure.
