Mother of four Brandi Bryant had never experienced any major health complications. One day, however, she noticed that she had been coughing for a very long time and still didn’t know the cause. Medicines did not help her, the cough intensified, and no one was able to cure her. Only after years did she find out what was behind her problem.
She did not seek medical help
Brandi felt it would be pointless to burden a doctor with such a trivial problem as a cough. Therefore she tried to heal herself at home. Everyone assumed it was a cold or just irritation caused by some allergy. But the cough still did not subside.
The children began to be afraid
Their mother noticed that the cough was starting to worsen. Sometimes she even felt like she was choking. Her throat, she said, would tighten and she could not catch her breath for a long time. At that moment she decided to seek medical help.
Experts explained to her that it was most likely asthma. Then they thought it could be pulmonary fibrosis, but they found it suspicious that such a young woman, who also does not smoke, would be dealing with lung cancer.
However, doctors pointed out the fact that this disease has the symptoms Brandi was suffering from.

The mother claimed that she forgot about her symptoms when she was busy, but in doing so she missed such important signals. One of the children even asked her if she would die from her illness. She was in shock.
They confirmed the worst
Doctors had to deliver the sad news to the young mother. Lung cancer was indeed confirmed. She perceived it as incomprehensible, because she was sure she was taking proper care of her lungs. She had never smoked and did not put undue strain on her body.
Course of treatment
Doctors began addressing the problem immediately. Although her condition began to improve quickly, more bad news soon followed. Fluid accumulated in young Brandi’s lungs and doctors had to perform an emergency operation. They discovered that the fluid also contained cancer cells.
The future is uncertain
Lung cancer is a very serious problem. There is a high chance that the cancer will spread significantly throughout the body. Most doctors agree that prevention can be the most effective measure, since by the time symptoms are evident it is often already too late.
Brandi continues to fight the cancer and is trying to defeat it. She is undergoing treatment, her condition is improving, and she is trying to remain optimistic. Currently there are no tumors present in her body, but her visits to the doctor continue. Everyone is doing their utmost to prevent the cancer from troubling the young mother again.
