Garlic is not only a great ingredient for flavoring, but it is also extremely healthy. It helps with common colds or the flu, and is also used as a supportive treatment for other health complications. It is a natural antibiotic, which is one more reason to have it fresh on hand whenever we need it. Whether we want to use it in the kitchen or for health.
With this growing method you don’t need to have a garden and you can grow it right on the balcony in a flowerpot!
Procedure:
1.) Divide the garlic bulb into cloves. Choose healthy, firm cloves without any signs of damage.
2.) Garlic likes soil rich in nutrients and plenty of light. Before planting it is advisable to add compost to the pot and, in addition to the soil, add a little sand. Plant 3 cloves of garlic in one medium-sized pot.
3.) Plant the garlic in a triangle, with the narrower side up (the side from which the shoot grows) and the thicker side down (so it can root well). Water it. The plant does not require much water and if it rains, it is enough to water the garlic once every 10 – 15 days. The top of the substrate should be covered with wood ash.
4.) Wood ash is rich in potassium and phosphorus, which the plant needs, and it also prevents fungal diseases. It is good to add ash every 10 – 15 days, even when the first shoots appear. We wish you good luck!
