Jód is one of the most important trace elements on which the overall health of a person, development, growth, vitality and aging in good condition depend. It is able to get rid of mold on plants, protects roots and is excellent against fruit rot. The use of a relatively small amount of Jód as a fertilizer leads to strong plants and higher yields. In the pharmacy I bought 1 bottle of liquid iodine and that was enough for my two seasons. It is used only in drops.

Jód for plants

Jód plays an important role in the vital activities of plants and in the normal course of their physiological processes. It participates in the synthesis of individual amino acids and proteins (contained in their composition), is a natural antiseptic, takes part in respiration, photosynthesis and nitrogen metabolism.

This trace element is effective against most fungi, viruses and bacteria – it is especially effective in fighting molds, rot and mildews.

A lack of Jód in plants can lead to a decrease in their resistance to various diseases. The reason for iodine deficiency may be a lack of this element in the soil (especially in peat, sandy soils and soils depleted by crops).

Too acidic soils are unfavorable for Jód – in them Jód immediately passes into lower layers and is inaccessible to plants. The most natural Jód is in fertile hard soil, in lowlands and especially in coastal areas.

Visual determination of a deficiency of this trace element in plants is relatively difficult because some of the symptoms coincide with the signs of other diseases and the effects of pests.

We therefore recommend at least preventive fertilization of plants with Jód – it will be useful in every garden and will certainly not harm the plants.

Jód solution for seedlings

Watering seedlings with Jód helps them grow and develop faster. In the initial stages of development, the use of this trace element is key to creating high resistance to adverse environmental factors and various diseases.

Watering with an iodine solution is suitable for tomato, pepper, cucumber, eggplant and cabbage seedlings. Dilute 1 drop of Jód in 3 liters of water to make the solution. Thoroughly mix the seedlings and water at the root. One watering will be enough to enrich the seedlings with Jód. The solution must not touch the leaves and stem. Remember that it naturally occurs only in the soil, and therefore should act only in the root zone.

Jód against mildew

Potato blight is the nightmare of almost every gardener. The first sign of blight on tomatoes are brown spots on the leaves of the plants on the underside. The leaf may gradually yellow and dry out, as well as the affected fruit. You can use an iodine solution to protect tomatoes.

About three weeks after the shoots have sprouted, gently spray the plants with a solution of 15 drops of Jód, 10 liters of water and 1 liter of skimmed milk. This treatment can be repeated another 2 to 3 times with an interval of at least two weeks between sprays.

Jód against pests

Pests such as larvae and beetles that feed on plant roots can be removed using an iodine solution. To fight larvae prepare the solution as follows: pour 20 ml of Jód per 10 liters of water and 1 liter into each bush.

Jód for houseplants

Jód can be used not only for vegetables and herbs but also for houseplants. With this feeding, weakened plants and those that do not have the strength to bloom are of course reborn. Watering flowers with Jód is always done only on moist soil and preferably along the edge of the pot, so you can ensure that you do not burn the plant’s roots in any way. Jód is always used in drops of 1 drop and

Mix 1 drop of Jód with 1 liter of water (ideally rainwater). We can use this mixture for fertilization. We apply it to the inner walls of the flowerpots and at each watering always use a maximum of 50 ml. Do not exceed the recommended dose of 50 ml to avoid damaging the roots of pelargonium. It is recommended to apply the dressing once a month. The dressing is also excellent for pelargoniums
