Spiders are not only a nightmare for women, but for everyone who suffers from arachnophobia. This woman, who was on an ordinary shopping trip to the Lidl chain in Martin, was shocked by the unexpected find. None of us would probably want to experience such a surprise!
Bananas at Lidl
The vast majority of all bananas imported into the Czech Republic and Slovakia are bananas originating from South America.
Thanks to the import of bananas from this part of the world, unwelcome guests often make their way to us.
You may have already heard that these little visitors have been discovered, for example, in the United Kingdom or in Germany.
Now, however, this spider was found much closer.
Spider among the bananas
Customer Ivana went on a routine shopping trip to Lidl and, like many of us, likes the sweet yellow fruit called bananas. She was happily picking bananas when suddenly she was in for a huge shock.
A large spider appeared among the bananas.
Ivana was in a state of shock and immediately informed the store staff about the spider. They reacted at once and a capture service specializing in exotic insects arrived at the store.
Phoneutria spider bite
After experts captured the spider, they determined that it was a Phoneutria spider. This spider is one of the most venomous spiders of South America, where the bananas were imported from.
In many cases this bite can be fatal. After a bite the venom begins to cause breathing problems, followed by loss of muscle control and paralysis. In men it often leads to a completely uncontrollable erection.
If a suitable antivenom is not given to the victim in time, respiratory failure and subsequent death occur.
