Pangasius, also known as Basa, is a species of river fish that contains a number of chemicals, bacteria, hormones and heavy metals.
This fish accumulates a high level of arsenic, as well as polychlorinated biphenyls, DDT and its metabolites, chlordane congeners (CHLS), metallic contaminants, isomers of hexachlorocyclohexane, hexachlorobenzene and other toxic and hazardous substances.
Why the pangasius fish is not good to eat
In fact, this fish is mostly farmed in the Mekong River in Vietnam, where the level of water pollution is one of the highest in the world. Compounds from untreated effluents of chemical factories, sewage from treatment plants and fertilizers from fields are discharged into the Mekong. And unscrupulous farmers also feed pangasius genetically modified foods and other chemicals.
Pangasius is sold for a pittance, so the fish are mainly sold to the poor and sent to “third world” countries where the fish are actively purchased.
The same Mekong water is used when freezing pangasius
To speed up fish growth 4 times faster, they import hormones from China that are introduced into the bodies of the females. Although authorities that monitor product quality in Europe require data on these hormones, the manufacturers refuse to provide them.
Studies show that consuming pangasius leads to liver damage, blood diseases, and damage to internal organs.
Be careful and try to stop consuming this fish. It is very dangerous for humans and especially for small children. Watch what you eat!
