Many of us have yeast on our plate every day, but few know everything that yeast hides within. Yeast, otherwise known as baker’s yeast, acts beneficially on health and has great potential for humanity.

Yeast

Our ancestors used yeast primarily as a leavening agent for baking bread or other pastries, which beautifully “puffs up”. Yeast was formerly known mainly in liquid form, but from the 19th century it began to be pressed as we know it today. That’s how the familiar cube was created, without which housewives can no longer imagine their kitchen.

Yeasts

Yeast contains yeasts of the species Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is the same species (but a different strain) that is commonly used as brewing yeast.
The “brewing” ones are somewhat less effective, yet they still contain live cultures. Yeasts are also found in wine. They play an important role in the stage when grape sugar is converted into alcohol.

What do they contain?

  • vitamin D and all B-group vitamins
  • enzymes
  • mineral salts and oligoelements that naturally accumulate in them
  • the trace elements iron and copper
  • essential acids and amino acids
  • proteins
  • carbohydrates
  • lipids

How do they benefit health?

  • they are especially appreciated by those with digestive problems – they improve bowel movements and are also effective for loss of appetite
  • they regenerate the body both internally and externally and support overall immunity
  • they help with skin problems, especially when your skin itches or is dry
  • they improve the strength of nails and hair
  • they have healing effects and also fight inflammation
  • they fight candidiasis, i.e., excessive fungal growth in the body
  • you will appreciate them if you have kidney or liver problems; they are even recommended for people who have liver cirrhosis
  • they also have a beneficial effect on our mental state – whether concerning fatigue, insomnia, depression or general nervousness

How to use them?

We can consume yeast in the form of the traditional cube. About half of it is enough for a day, which you can divide into several doses. The advantage is that it is a very inexpensive food that contains a really large amount of beneficial substances.

Yeast is also available in tablet or powder form and is taken three times a day after meals. So you just need to choose the option that suits you best. It is recommended, however, that you take the powder or tablets with only plain water or milk.

Yeast can also be applied directly to the skin. In this case it is worth mixing it with milk and applying the mixture to problem areas as a facial mask. Let it act overnight and wash off this natural remedy in the morning. It is important to say, however, that if we remove internal problems in the body, our overall external appearance will also improve.
