It was the beginning of 2013 when I experienced the greatest fear of my life.

During a holiday I felt a strong pain that made me perform a breast self-examination. I discovered a lump the size of a pea.

Subsequent examination unfortunately confirmed the worst – breast cancer.

My treatment and what followed afterward

I immediately made changes to my diet and overall lifestyle. I also enrolled in studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

I started juicing vegetables, eliminated certain types of foods and developed healthy recipes containing ingredients known for their regenerative and anti-tumor effects.

I ate tasty meals in amounts that never left me hungry.

During this journey something unexpected eventually happened.

Not only did I recover from cancer, but I also somehow lost 12 kilograms at the same time without any extra effort.

The most interesting thing is that before this I had tried for years to lose weight, but always without results. Today I eat more than before, I enjoy it, and the extra kilos somehow disappear on their own.

Besides that, I now feel much more energy, I sleep better, I have regular bowel movements and my skin is radiant. I feel as if I have discovered the fountain of life.

Try these 12 things yourself that forever helped me regain control of my health:

1. Start the day with a warm glass of lemon water

This helps kickstart the stomach and the production of digestive juices in the pancreas. In addition, it ensures proper hydration right from the morning.

To multiply this effect, add a little apple cider vinegar (preferably unpasteurized) to the water. It will improve your blood pressure, the acid-base balance on your skin and much more.

We wrote about the 25 benefits of apple cider vinegar that will change your life in  this article .

2. Tune in and listen

Listen to your body and eat only when you are hungry.

3. Hydrate throughout the day

Similar to the first thing in the morning, during the day I often drink water with lemon juice and a bit of cayenne pepper or chili.

This helps me continuously eliminate toxins. In addition, lemon prevents calcium from depositing in the vessels and other tissues where it does not belong.

The goal is to drink per day as much water as is 1/30 of your weight. For example, if you weigh 75 kg, you should drink 2.5 liters of water. For a 60 kg person 2 liters of water is sufficient.

4. Have a green smoothie for breakfast at least 4 times a week

Here is one recipe I like.

Blend 3/4 cup of pineapple (150 to 200 grams), 1 cup of spinach or kale, 1 tablespoon of crushed hemp seeds (you can buy them in the organic section of supermarkets like Fresh), 1 dcl of coconut water with a few ice cubes.

Such a smoothie drunk first thing in the morning will provide your body with many necessary nutrients.

5. Balance acid-forming foods (eggs, meat) with vegetables

If, for example, you eat eggs, have some vegetables as a side – for instance steamed broccoli or spinach.

6. Have a green juice every day (even if not at breakfast)

Flooding your body with fresh juice from vegetables such as cucumber, kale, cabbage or broccoli, with a bit of lemon and ginger, is an excellent way to give your blood and body chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll has strong detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effects.

7. Strictly limit or completely avoid processed foods

Try to have fruit and vegetables, seeds and nuts for a snack or dessert.

However, limit seeds and nuts to approximately 1/4 cup per day (0.5 dcl).

8. Support your thyroid by including seaweeds rich in iodine in your diet

When you cook soup or prepare another dish, add a pinch of dried kelp to it.

You can find kelp in the form of dried powder today in almost every health food store.

9. Limit intake of animal proteins

According to the metabolic theory of the causes of cancer, proteins, especially animal ones, exhaust the proteolytic enzymes produced in the pancreas, which are necessary to fight cancer.

Therefore, replace meat with, for example, avocado, pumpkin seeds or lentils.

10. Make Sunday a soup day

On Sunday cook a large pot of vegetable soup.

If you don’t eat it all, freeze the rest for other days of the week when you won’t have much time to cook.

11. Connect with nature on a daily basis

Try to spend some time outside every day. When your feet touch the grass or earth, it positively affects your vibrations.

This method is sometimes called “grounding”. Other ways to draw energy from nature are lying face down on the grass or hugging trees.

Some may find it too esoteric, but it really works. There is even an entire separate field of alternative medicine dedicated to it.

12. Before showering dry-brush your skin with a soft skin brush

This will help remove dead cells and toxins that are expelled from the body through your largest organ – the skin.
