Sooner or later every woman will find herself at the gynecologist with a problem she is embarrassed to talk about. Redness, itching, swelling of the mucous membrane, abdominal pain or foul-smelling discharge.

Vaginitis

Inflammation of the vagina caused by pathogenic bacteria and microbes. According to statistics it affects approximately one third of women of childbearing age.

To understand the causes of vaginitis, it is important to know that the vagina is home to many different microorganisms (both beneficial and pathogenic). Their balance depends on age, lifestyle and the function of a woman’s ovaries.

These factors affect the glycogen content on the vaginal wall, which is converted into lactic acid at a sufficiently high concentration (pH 4-4.5) and prevents the spread of harmful bacteria. Alkaline conditions in the vagina can cause gynecological disease.

How to treat vaginitis?

Taking antibiotics can make this problem worse, leading to the spread of fungal infection. In addition, they can cause allergic reactions and excessive drying of the vagina.

However, there are natural remedies to normalize the microflora that eliminate the undesirable symptoms of vaginal inflammation. Important: before starting any treatment, make sure which pathogen caused this disease (bacterial or fungal).

Chamomile decoction has helped maintain women’s health since ancient times. Pour 1 liter of water over 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers, bring to a boil and let steep for 5–10 minutes. Do rinses and washes depending on the severity of the disease. Once the microflora is normalized, it is no longer necessary to continue using it.

Dairy products

To prevent vaginal infections eat enough fermented dairy products, wear underwear made of natural materials and use intimate hygiene products that contain lactic acid.

It is also important that your partner rinses himself before sexual intercourse. This minimizes the introduction of foreign bacteria into the vagina.
