Today we will probably disappoint you a little when we tell you that the mattresses you use every day are a perfect place for the accumulation of dirt and the multiplication of various pathogenic microorganisms.

Changing the bed linens unfortunately won’t help here, because dust, sweat, hair, pieces of dead skin or other body tissue or fluids pass through the sheet and into the mattresses.

And in such an environment not only dust mites but a whole range of bacteria and other microorganisms multiply.

These can then negatively affect your health and the health of your loved ones.

However, there’s no need to worry. In this article we will also reveal how to effectively eliminate this danger without having to use any harmful chemical agents.

How to effectively disinfect mattresses

Believe it or not, but the only thing you need to clean mattresses is a bit of ordinary baking soda.

It is a natural substance that is extremely effective at removing bacteria and dust mites.

Follow these steps:

1. First, grab the vacuum cleaner and thoroughly vacuum the mattresses, including their sides and, if applicable, the bottom parts.

2. Then take baking soda and sprinkle it over the mattresses. You can use a kitchen sieve as a tool. This will disinfect the mattresses effectively.

3. You can leave the baking soda on the mattresses. If it bothers you, leave it for at least a few hours and then you can vacuum it up again.

4. Finally, add a few drops of your favorite scented essential oil to a spray bottle with water, shake, and then spray this mixture onto the mattresses so they smell nice.

5. That’s it! Repeat this process ideally once a month.

Conclusion

For effective cleaning of your home, in most cases you can use ordinary, purely natural items. Compared to chemical products, they are not only safer but often even more effective!
