We recommend that you learn about the nine symptoms that warn of hormonal imbalance:
1. Constant weight gain
If you have started gaining weight, it does not necessarily mean that your diet is wrong, because extra weight can be one of the signs of hormonal imbalance.
The stress hormone, cortisol, is secreted by the adrenal glands. When the production of this hormone increases, whether due to stress or another cause, weight gain may occur.
Increased cortisol production stimulates an increased amount of insulin released into the bloodstream. This can affect blood sugar levels, which often leads to an increased feeling of hunger and appetite.
It has been found that increased cortisol levels can lead to the accumulation of “toxic fat” in the abdominal area.
This increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases and strokes.
2. Hair loss
It was previously assumed that the main cause of hair loss was the hormone testosterone. Now, however, we know that the main culprit is dihydrotestosterone or DHT.
A healthy person produces small amounts of DHT, but this hormone should not be present in the body of a healthy woman. Therefore, the presence of even very low levels of DHT in a woman is enough to cause hair loss.
Hair loss also occurs in men if DHT levels in the body increase.
3. Excessive sweating
This is another sign of hormonal imbalance.
Women during menopause often experience hot flashes; sweating is a sign of hormonal changes.
Night sweats often occur in people with hormonal imbalance.
Women and men can be affected as a result of problems in the endocrine system, disruption of the production of hormones such as serotonin.
4. Joint pain and fatigue
Joint pain and extreme fatigue — these are signs that you have a hormonal imbalance, especially if you get quality sleep but still wake up feeling tired and with joint and muscle pain.
This can again concern the “stress hormone.” Cortisol leads to a constant state of readiness for fight or flight, which often occurs in stressful situations.
If stress is present too often, it can cause a constant feeling of fatigue.
In cases of chronic stress people often report adrenal fatigue, which is a consequence of high cortisol levels.
Also, the feeling of fatigue can be caused by another hormonal problem that occurs when levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) are relatively high.
This can happen when the thyroid gland does not function properly, in a condition called hypothyroidism.
5. Craving sugar
A strong craving for sweets can also be a sign of hormonal imbalance, which can be caused by the thyroid. It is a consequence of hypothyroidism, when the glands are hypoactive, meaning they work slowly.
Adrenal overload can also cause food cravings.
And the body increases production of adrenaline and the “stress hormone,” cortisol.
6. Bad mood
In cases of persistent bad mood, irritability, anxiety and depression the cause may be the thyroid — increased production of TSH.
7. Insomnia and sleep disorders
Women going through menopause often suffer from insomnia or interrupted sleep. This is caused by strong hormonal activity.
Lack of sleep can affect the production of 10 hormones that influence appetite, fertility, heart health and mental health.
Hormonal estrogen — its balance is maintained by regular sleep. Its deficiency, which is a symptom of menopause, is the main cause of insomnia in women.
In men, lack of testosterone often leads to loss of sleep.
8. Digestive problems
An imbalance of three hormones can lead to digestive problems. These are hormones known as gastrin, secretin and cholecystokinin.
They help stimulate the digestive process and turn food into simple molecules that are easily absorbed into the bloodstream.
These are signs that your body may be in hormonal imbalance.
As we have already stated above, if you have one or more of these, we recommend consulting a doctor for a more precise diagnosis.
We offer you a homemade recipe that will help balance hormones:

- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 medium cucumber or green apple
- 1 celery stalk
