Mother is a strange creature. On the one hand she is terrified of everything, then again she senselessly takes risks. Some mothers claim that if they themselves can eat it, then it is good for their babies …

But experts are frightened by such a trend. Here are 12 foods you should be very careful about. You can greatly harm infants with them. If you claim that your mother did the same and you were fine, then know that these are the opinions of specialists and doctors. Yes, some babies eat everything and nothing bothers them. Others, however, must receive everything literally drop by drop.

Ladies, when you give infants these foods to eat, you create big health problems for them.

1. Citrus fruits

Sure, an orange or lemon has lots of vitamins. But for small children citrus can be dangerous and can trigger a strong allergic reaction. Experts advise that the ideal time for first introduction to citrus is around one year of age. But they add in the same breath that it is necessary to start carefully – literally drop by drop.

2. Milk

Cow’s milk (milk protein) again ranks among strong allergens. Doctors recommend giving cow’s milk to a child only from two years old. Allergy to cow’s milk is a big problem in children. Allergy tests are not conclusive and results are often distorted, whether falsely positive or negative.

3. Eggs

Again a very strong allergen. And sometimes it is really enough to just lick the shell and the problem is there! The most common cause of food allergy are proteins of cow’s milk, less often egg white; in older infants proteins from flour and soy are also added.

4. Honey

Yes, honey is better than sugar. But it contains traces of pollen. That means you can again put your baby at risk from allergens.

 5. Nuts

Give a baby a nut? Only a lunatic would do that. But nuts are in baked goods and mothers often don’t realize it. Watch out for that! A dangerous allergic reaction can be caused, for example, by the popular peanuts.

6. Tomatoes

A raw tomato from the garden? Don’t give it to children. And don’t give them chemically treated supermarket tomatoes at all. A tomato can cause such a reaction on a child’s skin that your baby will then look like it has been scalded with hot water.
