China is a country that plays a very important role on the world market. It sells and buys billions of products, services and foods every year. But as they say, not everything is always perfect. Among thousands of quality products there are hundreds of less quality or even sometimes dangerous products.

Every year the volume of food exported from China grows. We have prepared a list of the most dangerous foods you should steer well clear of.

Garlic

Up to 80% of the world’s garlic production comes from China. Scientists say that Chinese garlic contains amounts of pesticides, heavy metals and other toxic substances harmful to health. Before export to other countries, garlic is soaked in chlorine, which helps it keep its shape longer.

Pepper

Pepper is one of the most used spices. To reduce costs, producers started adding small impurities to this product. In the best case it’s starch and chalk.

Counterfeit rice

A product that is most often counterfeited. They fake it from potato starch, to which they add plastic to create the needed mass. If you eat such rice it is the same as if you were eating a cellophane wrapper. Rice should be checked thoroughly.

Processed mushrooms

Up to 35% of all salted and pickled mushrooms come to us from China. The toxicity of these mushrooms was first talked about back in 2006. At that time, after consuming mushrooms gathered near Beijing, 16 people were hospitalized. The problem is the high level of air pollution in some parts of China.

Fish (tilapia and cod)

Tilapia and cod are the most popular fish imported from China. To make them reproduce and grow quickly, they are given hormones and strong antibiotics. In addition, most of the fish are raised in small ponds, in water that is very polluted.

Peking cabbage

Ruthless farmers spray cabbage with formaldehyde so it withstands transport well. The consequences of consuming such a product can be unfortunate: irritated skin and digestive problems.
