Ants are very beneficial in the garden, but no one wants to see them in the house.

If you have these uninvited guests, we have 10 effective ways to get rid of them quickly …

Methods:

1) Lemon juice

The scent of lemon is not pleasant for ants at all; moreover it makes their communication difficult because it destroys their own scent that they use to find their way back. Simply rub the trails with lemon juice or wipe them with a cloth soaked in lemon juice.

2) Cucumber peels

Their scent repels ants and they also contain substances that are poisonous to them. Leave the cucumber peels at the ants’ favorite spot and … problem solved.

3) Essential oils

Again — aromatic substances repel pests! Put the chosen oil on a cloth and apply it to the ants’ favorite spots.

4) Cinnamon

If you love the smell of cinnamon, you can prepare a mixture of this spice and water (0.5 l water + 2 tablespoons cinnamon) and apply it to places in the house.

5) Powdered sugar and baking powder or even baking soda

These ingredients don’t just work on ants but also on other pests. Leave them at selected spots in the house. Baking soda is poison for pests.

6) Cornmeal

This method is not very humane … the meal causes ants to die of starvation (their digestive systems simply can’t handle the meal).

7) Wine vinegar

You can use it two ways – spray places in the house with a mixture of water and vinegar or add vinegar to your floor-cleaning solution.

8) Plants

Eucalyptus, thyme or basil repel ants – and we can enjoy the lovely scent of the herbs

9) Dust

Ants really can’t stand its smell, and after contact with the substance they suffer from lack of water and eventually dry out.

PS: You will achieve the same result with diatomaceous earth.

10) Chalk

If you draw a line with chalk, ants will not cross it and you’ll be sure that pests won’t get near the food.
