A group of researchers from the University of Adelaide in Australia discovered that a powerful component of coconut oil can reduce the size of colon tumors by an incredible 93% in just 2 days!
They found this during a recent study when they examined the effects of lauric acid on cancer cells.
This is a really important finding because coconut oil is literally full of this acid – it makes up almost half of its total volume.
How coconut oil destroys cancer cells
The most interesting finding was that lauric acid neutralizes cancer cells by subjecting them to strong oxidative stress.
During this process lauric acid reduces the level of glutathione in the cancer cells, which normally protects them from oxidative influences.
However, the Australian study is not the only one that reveals the anti-cancer effects of coconut oil.
Many other studies carried out by experts reveal significant anti-cancer effects of coconut oil on other types of cancer as well, for example breast cancer.
What coconut oil can do
Coconut oil can also, by disrupting lipid membranes, neutralize pathogenic bacteria in the intestines without damaging beneficial gut microflora.
It thus helps prevent Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two very unpleasant but relatively common intestinal diseases.
It also eliminates many intestinal parasites, fungi, yeasts and other harmful microorganisms in the gut. It further aids the absorption and retention of calcium in the body, thereby protecting bone health.

Coconut oil was put on their list as well, because, as one of the few plant fats, it contains a high proportion of saturated fatty acids.
