Beetroot is in fact a highly nutritionally valuable vegetable that contributes greatly to our health and even very effectively helps cleanse the body. Therefore it is worth getting acquainted with the effects of beetroot and breaking your aversion to it. When you try a recipe, you will find that when prepared appropriately it is a very tasty vegetable.
It contains amazing things
Noteworthy is the content of B vitamins (especially B9 – folic acid) and C and also provitamin A (beta-carotene).
It is significant primarily due to its mineral content – calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium and potassium and others. In addition it contains proteins, sugars, fiber and above all the important antioxidant betanin.
Not only the bulbs (roots) have medicinal effects, but also the leaves, which we can use in salad or cook similarly to spinach.
The best for preserving nutrients is to consume beetroot raw, for example thinly sliced as carpaccio. Even cooked beetroot still retains many benefits, so we don’t have to forgo its effects even if we don’t particularly like raw beetroot. It is important to use beetroot grown at home in the garden or bought in organic quality, because this vegetable likes to draw nitrates and other harmful substances from the soil.

Liver cleanse with beetroot
If you want to cleanse the body of harmful substances, perform a so-called detoxification, prepare this drink and drink it 3x daily in portions of 2 dcl, chilled, preferably for 7 days.
We need:
- 2 small raw beets
- 2 apples
- 2 carrots
Instructions:
1. Grate the raw beetroot, carrot and apples, put them into a blender
2. Add 6 dl of water and blend everything
3. Pour into a glass jug and put into the fridge to chill.
Recommendations:
Drink 3x daily — morning, afternoon and evening, 2 dcl each. Before drinking, stir the drink thoroughly with a spoon. Based on some readers’ experiences we recommend starting with a dose of 1/2 dcl so that your body can get used to it …, if it is overdone at the start, someone may even feel unwell, the liver cleanse will proceed too turbulently and the body will then not be able to cope. There are people who overdid it right from the start to be as clean as possible as soon as possible. In this case it really isn’t necessary to overdo it. Also keep in mind that beetroot lowers blood pressure.
Intestinal cleanse with beetroot
Beetroot is an excellent food for cleansing the intestines. It is a source of quality fiber and contains pectin polysaccharides, which are considered effective in cleaning the digestive tract and maintaining bowel movement. Not only does beetroot support the health of the colon and the digestive system by facilitating elimination, but it also supports the overall detoxification mechanisms of the body.
