Back pain upon waking is like a nightmare for many people. Sleep serves to regenerate the body and to gather strength for the next day, but when we wake up in pain, we feel as if we haven’t slept at all.

Fortunately, there are sleeping positions that will help you get rid of pains in specific parts of the body. Do you know them?

Shoulder pain:

If you suffer from shoulder pain, you should definitely pay attention. The best thing to do is sleep on the opposite side, that is, on the side where you don’t have pain. You can also place a pillow under the sore shoulder, which will reduce the strain on your shoulder.

Headaches:

If you wake up in the morning with severe headaches, it can be caused by several reasons. Either you sleep with your pillow completely flattened so it’s as if you don’t have one, or you have several pillows under your head and your head is too high. Both cases cause pain from the cervical spine, which becomes blocked by incorrect sleeping posture. The best thing to do is invest in a pillow that keeps your head in the correct position.

Menstrual cramps:

Women who are used to suffering from these pains know how unpleasant they are and how they can disrupt many a night. If you are among these women, when lying on your back try placing a pillow under your legs at the knee area. It sounds simple, but it is really effective.

Back pain:

Back pain is among the most common pains many of us suffer from. There are several ways to relieve this pain. You can roll up a towel and place it under your back so that it follows the curve of your spine. Another option is to place a pillow under your knees in the same way we described for menstrual cramps.

If neither of these methods helps, the problem may be your mattress, which may need to be replaced.
