Water makes up 60 to 70% of your body. Therefore you should consume a sufficient amount of it during the day so that it can be adequately recycled within the body.
Water is essential for your digestion, blood circulation and the absorption and transport of nutrients in your body. In other words, without it many bodily processes would not function.
Why do we drink so little?
Although we know that we should drink enough fluids, we often don’t feel like it because plain water is tasteless and flavored soft drinks containing sugar are unhealthy.
However, this small problem can be solved by waters flavored with fruit juices or additional herbs that support metabolism.
Such waters, on the one hand, taste good and, on the other hand, their sugar content is relatively low and therefore do not pose a risk to our health.
Today we will show you a recipe for one such water that will help suppress inflammation in the body, relieve joint pain and finally improve digestion and accelerate metabolism.
Recipe for pineapple water
Pineapple as a fruit is valuable mainly because of its content of the powerful enzyme bromelain with strong anti-inflammatory effects.
In addition, bromelain accelerates the healing and regeneration processes of the body, for example after heavy exercise, exposure of the body to toxins or after intense physical exertion.
In this way, this enzyme can rid you of various bodily pains, including unpleasant joint pain.
One study from 2010 showed that regularly drinking pineapple juice reduced intestinal inflammation in mice. Another study found that just 200 ml of pineapple juice reduces asthma symptoms and supports weight loss.
The effect of pineapple juice is further increased if you combine it with fennel.
Ingredients
For preparing our pineapple water you will need the following ingredients:
- 200 ml of chopped pieces of fresh pineapple
- 1.6 liters of water
- 1 teaspoon of fennel
Preparation
1. First peel the pineapple and cut it into smaller pieces.
2. Put the pineapple pieces into a container with lukewarm (not hot) water and wait until the water reaches room temperature.
3. Now add the fennel to the water, stir and place the container in the refrigerator overnight.
4. In the morning strain the contents of the container.
Use
If you want, you can eat the pieces of pineapple that remain.
Then drink the strained water gradually throughout the day. Consume it within 24 hours. Prepare a new batch the next day.
Drink this beverage regularly or until your health condition improves – whether that is a reduction in inflammation, pain or an improvement in digestion.
