Cooking is literally an art for people who enjoy it. While on one hand it brings joy from the creations made, it can also be a real time thief.

For those of you who want to save time and effort while cooking, we have a few great kitchen tricks. Although extremely simple, they will bring you remarkable results.

1. If you want your ice cubes to be beautifully clear and transparent, boil the water before freezing it.

2. How to tell if an egg is fresh? Put it into a glass container with water (glass so you can look from the side, not just from above). A fresh egg will lie flat on the bottom. A slightly older but still fresh egg will tilt up at one end. And a spoiled egg will float on the surface.

3. If you want to cook a large number of eggs at once, you can put them in the oven and leave them there at 160 degrees for 15 minutes.

4. Before squeezing a lemon, roll it on the cutting board for a while. This way you’ll get much more juice out of it when you squeeze it later.

5. To chill wine, don’t use ice cubes that will dilute it; instead put frozen grapes in it.

6. You can peel ginger much more easily with a teaspoon than with a knife.

7. You can peel garlic more easily by putting the cloves into a plastic or glass container, closing it, and shaking well. The skins will come off by themselves.

8. Put ice cream containers in plastic bags in the freezer. The ice cream then won’t become super-frozen and so hard.

9. If you don’t want your soup to boil over from the pot, lay a wooden spoon across the top of the pot (see the opening picture).

10. To get the most flavor from baked or grilled fish, bake it on slices of lemon.
