Gum inflammation is an infection caused by bacteria. It is recommended to treat it right in the initial stages, otherwise the infection may spread, damage the tooth roots, or even lead to periodontitis.
The most common symptoms of gum inflammation include: receding gums, bleeding, swelling and pain.
Today we will share a few simple remedies on how to cure gum inflammation.
1. Salt
Prepare a solution of water and salt for rinsing the mouth. Salt has the ability to kill bacteria by changing the pH value in the mouth. In addition, salt also reduces swelling.
Ingredients: 1/2 tablespoon of salt, 1 glass (2 dcl) of lukewarm water
Procedure: Pour the salt into the water and mix well. Use this salty water to rinse your mouth for a few minutes 2 to 3 times a day.
2. Baking soda
Baking soda is another common ingredient used in the kitchen. It has several useful health applications. One of its properties is that, like salt, it lowers the pH level.
Ingredients: 1 to 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 glass (2 dcl) of lukewarm water
Procedure: Dissolve the baking soda in a glass of water and rinse your mouth with it for a few minutes 2 to 3 times a day.
3. Coconut or sesame oil
Both of these oils have strong anti-inflammatory effects. Oil also helps release trapped bacteria, which gives it a double effect — part of the bacteria are washed out and part of those that remain are killed.
Ingredients: 1 to 2 tablespoons of coconut or sesame oil.
Procedure: Put the oil in your mouth and swish it around for several minutes. Repeat the process several times a day.
4. Lemon juice
Lemon juice has strong anti-inflammatory effects and also contains vitamin C, which helps heal and regenerate the gums.
Ingredients: juice squeezed from 1 lemon and 1 glass (2 dcl) of lukewarm water
Procedure: Combine the lemon juice and water. Rinse your mouth regularly several times a day with the resulting mixture. However, do not rinse for longer than 1 minute and after finishing do not brush your teeth for at least half an hour, because lemon juice can slightly weaken tooth enamel.
5. Aloe vera
Aloe vera has strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. It is therefore an excellent remedy for gum inflammations, as well as for other inflammatory conditions in the body.
Ingredients: an aloe vera leaf
Procedure: Scrape the gel from the inside of the aloe vera leaf. Apply it to the gums and leave it on for a while. Repeat this 4 to 5 times a day.
6. Clove
Cloves contain substances that have strong anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and anesthetic properties. They have been used for oral infections since ancient times.
Ingredients: 10 cloves
Procedure: Put a clove in your mouth and hold it there for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Occasionally gently bite down on it to speed up the release of active substances. Then spit out the clove and, if needed, repeat the treatment a few times a day.
7. Sage and peppermint
Sage and peppermint are other very beneficial herbs for treating oral inflammations. They have strong antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling effects.
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon of sage or mint, 1 glass (2 dcl) of water
Procedure: Bring the water to a boil and add the herbs. Simmer on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain the infusion and let it cool. Then rinse your mouth with this liquid for a few minutes, several times a day.
