So that we are not tormented by strict diets, modern nutrition recommends eating healthy food and exercising. Experts have also created charts and product lists based on their nutritional properties. We all know that white bread, fried foods, sweets and soda are forbidden, but in reality there are more products that should go on the list of banned foods.

10. Sweet yogurts

Nutritious dairy products aren’t sweet. Yes, yogurt is really good for our body, but it’s better to eat it without sugar or fruit additives. Sweet yogurt can be a dessert, but it’s not a necessary dairy product.

Nutrition experts recommend avoiding dairy products that contain thickeners and starch. Instead add some fresh strawberries, spices and vanilla extract to your natural yogurt.

9. Rice

It is said that rice is almost like white bread and nutritionally speaking, white rice is the least beneficial. It contains a huge amount of simple carbohydrates that can cause weight gain.

Nutrition experts say that rice can be good for you, but it should be of truly high quality, e.g. natural rice.

8. Parsley

Parsley can be really harmful. Inexperienced cooks should not add it to salads and dress it with mayonnaise, sour cream or oil, because parsley can begin to emit nitrites and literally turn into a poison within 30 minutes.

Nutrition experts recommend not adding parsley to any dish until just before serving, so it retains all its beneficial elements.

7. Sauces

Have you ever noticed how homemade tomato paste differs compared to store-bought ketchup? Mayonnaise, tartar sauce, mustard and other sauces are no exception to the rule. The point is that all purchased sauces contain sugar.

Nutrition experts explain: it is cheaper to add sugar instead of natural tomatoes to enrich the flavor. It is recommended to choose olive or flaxseed oil or to crush tomatoes yourself and add spices.

6. Dried fruit and fruit chips

Fruit chips have become increasingly popular among health followers, but most manufacturers use the same method to make these chips as they use to make potato chips: they fry them in oil. Vegetable or fruit chips therefore contain as many calories as potato chips.

These chips usually look and taste the way they do because of chemical processing they undergo before drying. Moreover this process extends the product’s shelf life almost threefold. Unfortunately, after processing, this fruit and these vegetables are no longer useful or healthy at all.

Before buying dried fruit, watch out for their bright color, unnatural shine, softness, or smell. These are signs of processing. If the fruits are properly dried, they will not be bright or soft.

5. Grapes

It may sound strange, but grapes are not that healthy. It’s their sweetness that makes us eat them whole at once in large quantities, and our body thus receives too much sugar at once.

Nutrition experts say that we should mix grapes with other foods. We should not eat them together with fatty dishes, fish, fresh cucumbers, melon, beer or milk.

4. Improperly cooked fish

Fish are almost free of harmful fats and contain beneficial fats such as omega-3 fatty acids. Scientists from the University of Hawaii studied the chemical structure of the most popular fish dishes and concluded that boiling or baking fish preserves the greatest amount of beneficial substances. American cardiologists say that fried, smoked and salty fish are really harmful.

3. Corn

After many different studies scientists concluded that modified corn affects terrestrial and aquatic organisms. They even noticed that pollen from modified corn contains a harmful poison. In many countries this type of grain is even banned.

It is not recommended to eat canned corn or other canned goods. It is better to cook or bake it to ensure that you retain its beneficial elements.

2. Milk

Almond, coconut or Brazil nut milk contains added sugars and flavorings and, of course, extra calories. Therefore before buying a product, familiarize yourself with all the ingredients. It might be better to buy nut milk in organic stores.

1. Rice cakes

Rice cakes are included in many diets because they contain almost no fat. A few years ago popular magazines even recommended replacing bread with rice cakes.

Unfortunately, a rice cake has a high glycemic index, so you’ll feel hungry again very soon after eating. As a result, you may eat more calories than you should and gain additional weight.

Bonus: Eating too much avocado is also harmful.
