Nowadays heart attacks are one of the main causes of sudden death. Unfortunately they can affect virtually anyone. However, just before the tragedy the body sends signals that, if you recognize them, can reverse that tragedy.

It is important to know that these symptoms appear differently in women and differently in men. In this article we bring you 6 symptoms that every woman should know to avoid a heart attack.

1. Back, neck, jaw and arm pain

These symptoms can be confusing because a heart attack is primarily associated with chest pain or pain in the left arm, not in the neck or jaw area. The pain can be progressive, annoying, acute or sudden. It can even wake you up in the middle of the night. Therefore you should consult a doctor as soon as you notice unusual symptoms.

2. Sharp stomach pain, vomiting
Some signs of an impending heart attack can be mistaken for symptoms of food poisoning, the flu or severe heartburn. Sometimes a woman experiences pressure in the abdominal area, which is described as being like “an elephant sitting on the stomach”.

3. Cold sweat
Cold sweat is another common symptom in women. It seems to be associated with stress. However, if you have not had similar symptoms before, it’s better to visit a specialist.

4. Shortness of breath and dizziness
Breathing problems without an obvious reason are frequent companions of a heart attack, especially when combined with another symptom. Women who experienced it reported that they feel as if they had run a marathon, even though they hadn’t moved.

5. Increased fatigue

If even after a long rest you feel excessive fatigue and cannot perform simple tasks (for example, go to the bathroom), it is an alarming signal and a reason to pay attention to the state of your cardiovascular system.
