If you have spent weeks or several days indulging in unhealthy food, a number of desserts or processed foods, then your body is calling for a bowel cleanse. A good colon detox will rid it of many toxins and restore the proper function of other body organs.
Such an intestinal detox that we propose includes only two ingredients: honey and apple cider vinegar.
It is extremely easy to prepare and the things you need for it you probably already have at home.
However, let’s first take a look at how the individual ingredients of this recipe work.
Honey
Raw, organic, unprocessed honey is a true masterpiece of nature, because it provides numerous health benefits and treats several ailments.
Honey owes the majority of its healing effects to the compound eugenol.
In addition, unfiltered honey also contains a large amount of probiotics that restore beneficial bacteria in the digestive system, aiding digestion and nutrient absorption.
Apple cider vinegar
Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar is one of the best natural remedies ever.
Make sure, however, that you use one that is organic. Only that contains unfiltered particles which provide the greatest benefits for health. In addition, it contains beneficial fermentation bacteria – acetic bacteria – which help break down food in the intestines.
Apple cider vinegar has strong antibacterial effects on pathogenic bacteria, which it owes to its content of gallic acid, catechin and hydrochloric acid.
Furthermore, acetic acid supports the absorption of necessary nutrients from food.
In case the intestines are blocked by accumulated food residues, you may experience several health problems, such as:
Pains – it’s not just pain in the abdominal cavity, but for example pain radiating from a pinched sciatic nerve, headaches or other types of pain.
Constipation – it is caused by stress, unhealthy diet, chemicals, certain medications and other harmful substances, which force the intestine to produce an excessive amount of mucus to protect itself from toxins. The mucus and toxins then usually accumulate on the intestinal walls and cause inflammations.
Fatigue – toxic residues accumulated in the large intestine can penetrate its walls, enter other body organs through the bloodstream and cause overall fatigue.
Acne and eczema – if the large intestine is clogged and toxins penetrate the body, the skin also suffers; its pores become clogged, which then leads to the development of acne and eczema.
Body odor – toxins and gases from the large intestine can penetrate back into the stomach and other parts of the body, which subsequently causes bad body odor, flatulence or unpleasant breath.
