Scientists, however, say that fighting and teasing among siblings has a positive effect on a person’s psyche.

Scientists at Cambridge University are convinced that our arguments and back-and-forths with brothers and sisters provide us with mental and emotional growth in life.

Their study titled “Toddlers Up” lasted five years. 140 children participated in it.

Brothers and sisters have a fairly large influence on each other during adolescence, even if that means constant arguments and fights.

According to the study, children learn to use different verbal constructions during this period. This has a direct effect on their mental growth and social skills.

However, if such rivalry continues not only in childhood but also in adulthood, the result can be completely different.

In most cases the problems gradually fade and a genuine friendship begins to develop between siblings.

What do you think about that?
