The results are truly impressive: their skin is healthier, they lose weight and they are more energetic. But do all these tips really work? Are all types of bread harmful or only some of them.
White or dark bread
Wholegrain bread and bread made from rye or wholemeal flour are perfectly fine. These products are healthy, but when it comes to white bread, it is not so good for you. Flour and yeast have been changed and the combination of intense energy and additives has completely displaced the aging process. That is the main reason to stop eating white bread, even white bread of the highest quality.
Unnecessary product
Wheat grains are high in vitamins. However, when the grains are processed, all the useful substances simply disappear. Even premium quality white flours retain only about 30% of the beneficial substances they contained before processing, and unfortunately these substances become inactive after 2 weeks. By the way, the shelf life of flour is about 12 months.
Lack of flavor
Let’s admit that white bread has no flavor. But that is why many people love it. It does not prevent you from enjoying the taste of the meat, soup or cheese you eat. But compared to wholemeal flour products it does not improve the flavor.
Skin problems
We are what we eat. And if a person eats mostly flour, they can face skin problems. Acne is usually caused by gluten (from the Latin word “glue”) contained in bread. The body cannot eliminate gluten, so it causes damage to the intestines. Before you go to a dermatologist, try changing your diet first.
Digestive problems
Gluten, as we mentioned above, can cause various digestive problems. Wholegrain bread contains an important element – fiber – while flour products do not. 5-6 slices of wholegrain bread a day will provide you with enough fiber to meet the daily requirement. To reach this norm by consuming fruit and vegetables, you would have to eat 14 apples, 21 carrots, 25 tomatoes or about 5 kilograms of cucumbers.
Premature aging
As you already know, white bread is a product that contains no useful substances. Consuming foods that do not contain vitamins prevents our body from staying young. So those who love refined flour products tend to look older than they actually are.
Addiction
Bread is like a drug. White flour causes blood sugar to rise and as a result insulin levels increase. When you eat a slice of bread, blood sugar rises quickly, but then quickly falls and you start to feel worse and want to eat more fast carbohydrates to feel better. Such drastic changes in blood sugar levels can even lead to diabetes.
Overweight and obesity
For many people this can be one of the reasons to stop eating foods with refined flour. More than 70% of people who stop eating bread lose weight during the first 2 weeks. One slice of medium-sized bread contains 0.6 g of fiber and the other components are converted into body fat. The glycemic index for bread is even higher than for chocolate. And the starch contained in baked goods breaks down in the digestive tract and turns into glucose that enters the bloodstream, which means you will soon feel hungry.
