The well-known healthy lifestyle lecturer Chris Bailay took on finding the answer to this question, conducting a month-long study on exclusively drinking plain water.

Drinking plain water instead of sugary drinks means a reduction in calorie intake equal to the number of calories you would burn if you ran 8 km daily.

Two glasses of lukewarm water drunk on an empty stomach in the morning can speed up your metabolism by up to 25%.
You will have much more energy during the day and additionally begin to burn body fat .

The human brain is made up of 75 to 83% water, which is more than the average water proportion in the rest of the body.
This means you can improve its functioning with sufficient hydration, which will improve your concentration and other brain functions.
