The Public Health Office warns on its official website about the occurrence of a dangerous product in the European Union that was reported to the RAPEX system (rapid alert system for non-food products).

It is “Gel Polish Remover, Magic Remover – nail polish remover, brand: ibcccndc, barcode: sz010092, country of origin: China, manufacturer: Guangzhou Sizhu Network Technology Co. People’ Republic of China”, warns on the official website the Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic, Jan Mikas.

The product was found to contain a substance called dichloromethane, which cannot be used in cosmetic products. It has high volatility, which poses a risk of poisoning by vapors. Dichloromethane is also a possible carcinogen, as in tests on laboratory animals it was linked to cancers of the lungs, liver and pancreas.
