When is a person most infectious and therefore the greatest danger to others? At a time when they have only minimal or even no symptoms.
Therefore, these days it is extremely important not to go outside without a mask or other clean fabric on the face. But how to wear it so that it fulfills its purpose one hundred percent?
Masks are currently in critically short supply in shops and more have not yet been delivered.
If you therefore do not yet have yours, it is quite easy to sew them from household supplies. It does not matter so much exactly what we wear, as long as we know how to wear it hygienically and correctly.
- We always put the mask on with freshly and thoroughly washed hands.
- The protection should fit correctly on our face; gaps significantly reduce its effectiveness.
- Once we have put the mask on, we should not touch it anymore. If we want to take it off, we again do so only with washed hands and handle it only by the ear loops.
- If we must take off the mask outdoors, when putting it on again we should use a disinfected or new mask.
- Disposable masks are fundamentally intended to be disposed of after first use.
- Scarves or homemade fabric masks should be boiled or washed at a temperature of 60-90 ° C. Afterwards they should be ironed and, if possible, disinfected with hydrogen peroxide, colloidal silver, or another available disinfectant.
- We do not lend or swap masks among ourselves and under no circumstances should we try them on just to see if they fit us. Masks used in this way are no longer considered clean.
- The motto of the day is: A mask is not shameful! Let’s act responsibly and not go outside without one under any circumstances.
