The pH of your internal environment can largely determine how healthy or sick you will be. A value above 7.4 is considered optimal. Significantly lower than that already constitutes body acidosis.
However, do not confuse this with blood pH, which always stays within a very narrow range. This does not quite apply to the pH of bodily fluids.
How can you ensure that the pH of your internal environment is optimal?
One of the simplest ways is the so-called alkaline diet. That is a diet that consists mainly of fruits and vegetables.
Today we will give you a list of 60 such alkaline foods. The more you eat them, the easier it will be to keep your body’s pH in a healthy range.
Scientists state that by preventing the body’s acidification you can avoid the development of cancer, inflammations, diabetes, heart disease and many other illnesses.
So let’s get to it. We’ll divide the foods into 5 categories:
1. Alkalizing foods with a high protein content
These mainly include the following:
- freshly ground flax seeds (long standing causes their oxidation)
- tofu (only fermented in the traditional way)
- almonds
- millet
- edible chestnuts
- walnuts
- hemp seeds (today they are already considered a superfood)
2. Alkalizing fruits
The following types of fruit belong to this group:
- watermelon
- chard (extremely rich in antioxidants)
- berries
- figs
- apples
- tomatoes
- grapes
- tropical fruits (mangosteen – the queen of fruits)
- dates
- lemons
- bananas
- limes
- tangerines
- pineapple
- avocado
- apricots
- bananas
- coconuts
- oranges
3. Alkalizing vegetables
This group mainly includes:
- carrots
- green beans
- onions
- cabbage
- eggplant
- sprouts of various kinds
- spinach
- mustard greens
- mushrooms
- rutabaga
- celery
- wheat sprouts
- garlic

- broccoli
- peas
- parsnip
- spirulina

4. Alkalizing spices
- soy sauce (only traditionally fermented)
- Indian curry
- turmeric
- chili peppers
- cinnamon
- ginger
- mustard
- many other herbs (basil, mint, thyme and similar)
5. Other alkalizing foods
- molasses (from sugar cane)
- mineral waters (preferably with calcium and magnesium in a 1:1 ratio or at least 2:1, the more magnesium the better)
- fresh vegetable juices
- apple cider vinegar (it is acidic, but metabolically it supports alkalinity in the body)
- bee pollen
- probiotics
- juices from sprouts and grasses
Of course, this list is not exhaustive. Many other foods have alkalizing effects on the body.
In this article we have listed only the best-known and most easily available foods (apart from some tropical fruits).
