The newborn child is a gift from God and everyone is always very excited about it. Families cannot wait to start raising the little being and give it all the love they received from their parents when they were little. However, we must not forget the grandparents, who are also very much looking forward to the grandchildren. Even though there are situations when grandma and grandpa do not see their grandchild for many years, we should not deny them this right. It is scientifically proven that the presence of a small child with grandparents can improve their quality of life.

A huge turning point in life

The arrival of a grandson or granddaughter into a grandparent’s life can be a huge turning point for these people. A newborn grandchild gives these older and already fairly experienced people a new ray of light, life, joy and happiness. It has been proven that these people regain a sense of purpose in life, because they have someone to live for again. Unfortunately, it happens that grandparents often fall into a state where they refuse to work and to function in life. A grandchild is therefore many times the only option to help the grandparent.

Unconditional love

There is nothing more important and fundamental in the world than love and loving our loved ones unconditionally, and above all our children. Grandparents have learned this over their long years of life and know very well that love can heal many of the problems and sorrows that a person often has in life. So let us learn to love our children, our parents, our grandparents and often give them our little children. We will thus help them live longer and more contentedly.

Younger and happier

There are even studies that have shown that grandparents’ care for grandchildren has a lifelong positive effect.

One study even involved 500 people aged 70 and over. Some regularly cared for their grandchildren and others did not. Among those who were without grandchildren, mortality was higher than among those who cared for grandchildren. Caring for grandchildren therefore extends life and brings more activity and feelings of importance. Some even reported that thanks to caring for grandchildren they feel younger and happier.
