Skin conditions are a fairly common health problem in people of all age groups. Moreover, their treatment can sometimes be quite delicate.
Moles, skin growths or warts are among the most common, although together there are over 3,000 different skin diagnoses that can occur.
Skin problems and traditional remedies
Any change in color, texture or odor can represent a potential health problem, so it should always be given appropriate attention.
There are various pharmaceutical and cosmetic products on the market, but they are often either not very effective or fairly aggressive and can cause various associated problems.
You can protect yourself from these potentially harmful products and exposure to chemicals by using natural substances.
There are several types of natural remedies that will help you regain healthy, radiant skin in a short time.
In this article you will find a few of the most effective and at the same time inexpensive natural substances for treating many skin problems.
1) Moles
Moles usually do not represent a serious medical problem. However, if they begin to change color and shape, it may be a sign of cancer.
In such a case it is always good to seek help from a dermatologist who will determine whether the changes are indicative of a more serious problem.
In other cases you can use the following home remedies:
Garlic
Garlic extract or raw garlic can be very effective means for treating moles.
First you need to protect the skin around the mole, because garlic can be quite aggressive. You can use either adhesive tape or petroleum jelly for this.
If you want something more natural, use beeswax or an oil.
Apply a little crushed garlic to the mole and cover it with adhesive tape. Leave it on for a maximum of 5 minutes, then remove the garlic and wash the area with lukewarm water.
Longer exposure to garlic could be too harsh on the mole and cause unnecessary irritation.
Repeat the procedure every day until you achieve the desired result.
Castor oil and baking soda
Mix both substances in a 1:1 ratio until they form a smooth paste. Then apply it topically to the mole, cover it with adhesive tape and leave it on overnight.
The following morning wash the skin well. Repeat the procedure every night until you achieve the desired result.
Apple cider vinegar
Soak a small cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply it directly to the mole. Secure it with adhesive tape and leave it on for several hours.
If you have sensitive skin, dilute the vinegar with water in a 1:1 ratio.
Repeat the procedure every day until the mole darkens and falls off.
2) Warts
Small warts are the result of infection by human papillomaviruses (HPV).
Common procedures include the use of salicylic acid, freezing, or the application of various plasters. Here are several other ways to get rid of warts:
Bananas
Bananas are probably the fastest way to get wart-free skin.
Take a banana peel and rub the inside of it on the wart. You can also cut off a piece of peel and tape it to the wart with adhesive tape overnight.
Repeat the procedure every night. It usually takes 1 to 2 weeks for results to appear.
Pure raw honey
Applying honey to warts can sometimes be a very effective way to remove them.
After applying, cover the area with adhesive tape so the honey doesn’t rub off. Do this until the wart falls off.
Treating warts with honey also has the advantage that there is only a very small chance of them returning.
Apple cider vinegar and garlic
Similar to moles, you can use apple cider vinegar and garlic on warts as well.
The procedure is the same as described in the previous section.
3) Skin tags
Skin tags are usually found around the neck, chest, in the armpits and near the eyelids.
The most common cause of their formation is skin rubbing. Standard treatment by a doctor usually includes cutting, freezing or ligation.
However, there are also natural ways to get rid of them.
Tea tree oil
Soak a cotton ball in water and then add a few drops of tea tree essential oil to it.
Then apply the cotton to the affected area, secure it with adhesive tape and leave it on for some time (tens of minutes to an hour).
Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times daily for a whole month. If you are patient and consistent, you will be satisfied with the result.
Apple cider vinegar
Apply the same apple cider vinegar procedure used for warts or moles to skin tags as well.
It will take a few days for the tags to darken and eventually fall off.
Baking soda and castor oil
A mixture of baking soda and castor oil in a 1:1 ratio is effective for removing skin tags as well as moles.
The paste can be applied either overnight or 2 to 3 times during the day, depending on what suits you better.
Keep the paste refrigerated between uses.
