Health Minister Vojtěch told the Novinky.cz portal how the Czech Republic is coping with the situation with the virus. In addition, he spoke about easing the measures and also about when people will be able to go without a face mask.

As the first thing he said that the government will in the coming days begin to relax the strict regulations. There have also been mentions that it is too fast. Vojtěch always refers to a concurrence of circumstances.

Mandatory wearing of face masks

There was also talk about wearing face masks, which are already getting on many people’s nerves. Vojtěch in this context pointed out that at the beginning of March there was a big rush for masks and now almost everyone would like to take them off.

So what happens next?

As for when we will stop wearing masks or how long they will still be worn, the minister gave an approximate date: “Masks as such should remain mandatory for at least another two months. Of course with exceptions, as we made for children suffering from autism. They may also apply to performing artists, for whom it obviously prevents them from carrying out their activities. I can imagine that later we will make a distinction as to whether a person is moving in an enclosed space or in an open area, but this obligation should apply until June.” He added on the matter.

The mandatory wearing of protective equipment is also connected to other things. Some, for example, are unsure about what will happen with masks once restaurants reopen. That still needs to be considered by the Chamber of Deputies.
