To drink or not to drink Coca-Cola – a question all responsible parents who care about their children’s health are concerned with. The composition of this beverage raises doubts among consumers around the world.

In 2006 the first court case began in Turkey. Instead of caffeine, caramel, carbon dioxide and sugar the manufacturer uses a liquid obtained from the insect cochineal.

Cochineal is an insect that lives in Mexico and on the Canary Islands. There fields are prepared for it where this insect sucks sap. Then the insects are collected, the females are selected and processed into a pigment called carmine. Carmine colors the beverage into the color of this brand.

And the first word of the product’s name also comes from the name of the insect – Coca.

What the word Cola means can be understood from the account of a man who worked at a Coca-Cola factory for 23 years. The main raw material of the popular drink is licorice roots, which mice really like. Company employees cannot physically sort tons of roots gathered by an excavator and they press them together with the rodents. Fur, bones and paws are removed only after this process is finished

The dark color of the drink masks the presence of blood and stomach contents of mice in the liquid. The product is of course disinfected using harmful chemical compounds. During his many years of work the employee who reported these facts never drank this drink.

Scientists (from Washington) broke down one of Cola’s ingredients into components:

Caramel – is a chemical mixture of sugar, ammonia and sulfides obtained under high pressure and high temperature. The use of this sugar substitute can cause diseases of the liver, lungs, thyroid gland and/or leukemia.
Soda is produced in the presence of ammonia, which is the basis of the secret ingredient codenamed “7 x”
Carmine is not certified, which is why Coca-Cola is not produced in a number of developed countries.

Body’s reaction to Coca-Cola:

After 10 minutes – The body gets a shock in the form of 10 teaspoons of sugar, which makes up the daily norm. It does not induce vomiting because phosphoric acid, which is also part of the drink, prevents that.

After 20 minutes- An increase in insulin levels in the blood follows. Your liver converts sugar into fat.

After 40 minutes – The pupils dilate because you’ve received a huge amount of caffeine. Blood pressure rises because the liver increases the release of sugar into the blood. At the same time adenosine receptors are blocked and drowsiness disappears.

After 45 minutes – Production of the hormone dopamine increases, which stimulates the brain’s pleasure center. This is roughly how heroin works.

After 60 minutes – Metabolism speeds up and calcium excretion (in urine) increases.

After 70-80 minutes – Calcium, zinc, magnesium, sodium, water and electrolytes are excreted in the urine.

After 90 minutes – All the water contained in the drink is expelled in the urine and the person becomes irritated or passive.

Cola also contains orthophosphoric acid. The pH value of this active ingredient is 2.8, therefore special vehicles for transporting highly corrosive materials are used during shipment of the concentrate.

Harmful substances in Coca-Cola:

Aqua carbonated – soda, stimulates stomach secretion and increases the acidity of gastric juices. It causes increased flatulence.
E952 Cyclamic acid. Cyclamate is a sugar substitute, a synthetic material that is more than 200 times sweeter than the real product. A carcinogen that causes cancer.
E150d Ammonia-sulfite process – this coloring is sugar burnt at high temperatures, often with the addition of chemical agents.
E950 Acesulfame potassium – unsuitable for children and pregnant women. It contains dimethyl ether (worsens heart function) and aspartic acid (provokes and stimulates addiction).
E951Aspartame – in warm soda aspartame converts into formaldehyde, a dangerous carcinogen, which can cause headaches, nausea, heart palpitations, seizures, anxiety or provoke a tumor. Synthetic sugar is chemically unstable and can break down into methanol (5 ml can cause death of the optic nerve) and phenylalanine.
338 Orthophosphoric acid – is flammable and explosive. It can irritate the eyes or skin. It prevents the absorption of iron and calcium in the body, which leads to deterioration of bone tissue properties.
Е211 Sodium benzoate – it is an expectorant used to preserve food as a bactericidal and/or antifungal agent. Doctors prohibit it for people suffering from asthma or sensitive to aspirin. It damages human DNA, as confirmed by scientists at the University of Sheffield (England).

Coca-Cola is therefore truly an explosive mixture that can lead to a change in mood. However, it is up to you to decide correctly what is approaching you in illuminated trucks – a festive feeling or health problems.
